Complications: Motivation: Power Black Smoker follows Poseidon intending to ride his coattails to power. He works with the Ultra-Guard, gains their trust, in order to use them to advance Poseidon's interests so that Poseidon will reward him. Disability Dazzled (Visual) in Daylight

The Ultra Guard are a team of heroes charged with defending Atlantis from super-powered threats and natural disasters. While King Theseus (and later Queen Thetis) are themselves quite potent heroes, their official duties (and the fears of their advisors) keep them from responding to every danger that comes Atlantis's way).

Black Smoker is a Deep One, of the the ancestral enemies of Atlantis. He was a follower of Poseidon when he secretly took over Alantis and placed into the Ultraguard to assist, and watch over them, to make sure Poseidon's control does not slip. Black Smoker wears a dark blue bodysuit with cloth wraps and bronze bracers around his wrists. As a mutant Deep One, his skin is all black, his scales almost unnoticable. He coommonly walks with a shroud of volcanic smoke surrounding him

Black Smoker draws from volcanic powers. The smoke that shrouds him makes him difficult to hit or hurt, and he can unleash it as a cone of choking blackness. He can also pull up volcanic rocks to surround and corral his enemies
